Rzeczpospolita: An innovative treatment for diabetes, built on a so-called transdermal carrier, is being developed by Biotts. In short: the solution, by the Wrocław-based biotech, makes it possible to transport pharmaceuticals into the bloodstream, through the skin – no pill or shot required. The people behind the company Konrad Krajewski, Jan Meler and Paweł Biernat are already conducting preclinical trials on animals – these will run through the end of 2022. Research on humans is expected to begin in January of 2023. This project – valued at PLN 14.6 million – is being co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).
– We’re developing new drugs that can be taken through the skin, using an innovative carrier which is able to transport substances that fight diabetes – explains Konrad Krajewski.
